our radiologist deserves a raise. she was really something else. she asked if this was my first pregnancy, and when i told her it was my second because of a miscarriage, she took her time and measured every tiny thing that could be measured, she reassured me about everything, she was saying how cute she was, and the best part, she got it to where we saw the whole body, and just sat there and let us all watch her move around for quite a few minutes! i was so grateful to her for letting us really enjoy seeing this healthy baby. i was honestly expecting SOMETHING to be wrong today. i just thought it would be too good to be true to have everything go smoothly. i couldn't stop crying and smiling. it was better than every christmas and birthday put together!! and that says a LOT for those of you who know how much i like presents. :) seeing my baby girl was the best present EVER!!!! and i'm soooooooo glad that valerie, my mom and brian were all there to experience it with me. i sure wish my dad was able to come, but he found out as fast as humanly possible after we got the news. :)
i thought if they said it was a girl, i'd be worried that they just "missed" something, but sheesh, there is no way that with all the 4,000 angles we saw her flip around, there's no doubt that she's a lady. :)
we cannot WAIT to meet her. brian is one proud father. :) he said at first he didn't think he had that much of a preference, but when it came down to it, the last moments in his head were, "be a girl, be a girl..." :) i'm glad that he'll get to have a daddy's girl. i'm looking forward to see how our relationship transforms as we become parents and experience all that goes along with it. it's an exciting time for us, that's for sure.
thanks, valerie, for being there with us to find out! it was great having you there. and thanks, mom, for the pink-fest afterwards. :) hahhaa! and thanks, aunt kristie, for the adorable outfit from gymboree. i've got quite a bit more shopping to do to get ready for this girl!! :)
the radiologist also gave us TONS of pictures! here are my favorites. one is her trying to suck her thumb- she kept smashing her hand in her face, making sucking motions with her mouth, but she just couldn't quite get it! :) one is of her in mid-somersault. i swear, she's gonna be a gymnast! she's got an adorable little button nose. enjoy seeing your niece/granddaughter!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh yeah, and we have a name already picked out. if you don't like it, keep it to yourself because that's her name and you'll end up loving it after you put the name with her face! :) now presenting Violet Claire Guice:
